Stumble Bribe Experiment

Okay folks, here is the deal:

I recently got a copy of an interesting new piece of software called the Stumble Bribe Machine which allows you to give a free gift to anyone who votes for pages on your website using the Stumble Upon social bookmarking service.

The way it works is this: Bookmark any 5 posts on this blog using the Stumble Upon thumbs up vote (if you’re not a Stumble Upon member, Sign Up Here!) Then, return to this page and enter your Stumble Upon user name in the box below. The software will check to see if you actually did the required number of votes (5 in this case) and send you to the thank-you download page to receive your gift.

The gift I’m giving away during this test is a copy of Anthony Shepherd’s excellent ebook, “Double Genius.” It retails for $27 and I charge $17.95 for it on this website - but you can get your copy for just 5 minutes of your time (a pretty good return on investment in my book!) If you want more info about the ebook, check out the sales page.

I’ve tested everything and it all worked for me. The process is not instantaneous. It can take a few minutes for all of your votes to register on the Stumble Upon servers so that the software here can properly detect them. If you don’t get forwarded to the download page, wait a few minutes and then try again.

Enter your Stumbleupon username:

If you have any questions or comments about the experience of using this tool from the bribee’s perspective, please leave a comment below. You can also post there if you have any technical problems. I’ll be checking in over the next few days.

The experiment will only be running for a few days and then I’ll be pulling this page down as I evaluate the results. Thanks.
