Drop Card Prospecting

I’m always on the lookout for creative ways to pull in new prospects to my online businesses. As the web space gets more and more crowded, it has become harder to get noticed.

The technique I describe in this video is drop-dead easy to do – and inexpensive too! But, using Drop Cards for prospecting new clients is a unique way to get noticed by the right people.

There is no need to limit your drop-card approach to the small business market or bookstores. Put yourself in the shoes of your prospects and imagine what they would never pass by. Then, fashion a drop card around that.

Your cards could be left anywhere: at a restaurant, on windshields, etc.

Try using a free offer as your pitch and build a list of prospects to reach out to again and again.

  1. I occasionally market baby products using cards but take a more direct approach. This involves waiting at stations for commuters arriving home from work and handing out cards to people as they leave the station. I suppose you could also do this at busy shopping malls although I have not tried this.

I usually try to put an irresistable offer on the card such as heavily discounted price etc. Handing out cards this way does not generate an enormous amount of business but every new customer goes onto my list for future marketing shots and over time can add substantially to your income.

  2. Cheryl, you have a point. You obviously don’t want to litter the countryside, but a few strategically dropped cards can work wonders for new leads.
